Plug - Email PDF Support

🚧

This is a beta feature. We welcome any feedback on this feature via Zendesk or emailing us at [email protected]!

Overview

For providers that don't allow online account access, we can receive statements via email that are sent to a customer created email address.

βœ…

While web-based acquisition remains our standard method, email-based processing should be considered when the accounts are inaccessible through the utility’s website.

How it works

Billing statements should be sent to your dedicated inbox each billing cycle. To get started, please reach out to your Account Manager (AM) or Customer Success Manager (CSM).

Email requirements:

  1. Consistent subject line OR consistent sender email address
  2. An email can ONLY contain PDF files from a single provider
  3. Size limit of 40MB for all files attached to the email
  4. PDFs ONLY are supported

If there is a change in the subject line or sender, this will cause a delay in processing.

Dedicated inbox

You will not have access to the dedicated inbox to which you send your statements. However, once the email and attachments are processed, they will be visible in the Plug Dashboard Files Module page.

Getting started

If you are interested in trying out this beta feature, reach out to your AM or CSM today! Once your dedicated inbox is created, you can start sending us statements immediately for automated processing. These accounts will auto-activated.

If you no longer want to receive data for a given account, ensure the emails are no longer sent to Arcadia using your team's standard process and deactivate the account.

How we process the emails

Each email received goes through the same steps:

  1. You send an email to your dedicated inbox at Arcadia for processing.
  2. Once the email with attachment(s) is received, emails will be stored in our internal system. This step is not visible to you.
  3. If the email has a valid attachment, we will process and make the statement visible in the bill uploader page on the Dashboard. Read more on how the bill uploader works here.
  4. If the email has no attachments or invalid attachments, the email will not be processed.
