Creating a private Time of Use (TOU) definition requires special API permissions. Contact [email protected] to request access before using this endpoint.
When to use this endpoint
Use POST /rest/timeofuses/ when you need to:
- Add a custom Time of Use definition for contracted rates or private tariffs.
- Define a private TOU schedule that only your organization can retrieve, modify, or delete.
- Model custom on-peak, off-peak, partial-peak, or critical-peak periods for your calculation workflows.
Private TOU requirements
Private TOU definitions must provide complete, non-overlapping coverage of the entire year. Every minute of the year must be covered by exactly one TOU period.
Do not specify touGroupId or touId when creating a private TOU definition. The API assigns those IDs and returns them in the response. If you use seasonId or calendarId, select from public seasons and calendars; the API does not support user-customizable seasons or calendars.
